How easy is it?
Nest is easy to use, there is no “learning curve” needed. Simply put the fine mesh filter into the dripper that is part of the kit, rest it into the 10 ounce cup, add 25 grams of your favorite coffee, (fine ground) into the filter, and pour hot water into it, keep pouring until you get to your desired level of coffee. That’s it, really, no guess work on figuring out the grind or adding a paper filter to accommodate poor design as with some other outdoor coffee brewers companies.
Cost?
Some people have brought it to my attention that the price is on the high side, but after I bought one and tested the Nest for myself, I feel that the price is actually is on par for the quality of what you’re getting. All the items that make up the Nest are food grade safe, the plastic is BPA free, and the stainless steel is 80 percent recycled 304 food grade stainless steel. So, it is tough enough to hold up to everyday life without worrying about it breaking.
What makes this standout?
Functionality of the Nest is in its design, it is all inter-locking, and it stacks up in a nice cylinder tube that fits nicely in a back back, or out of the way in your vehicle. I will have to admit, when it is all assembled and sitting on my shelf, it does look like one of my top shelf containers of Scotch , so I don’t mind displaying where everyone can see it.
Overall I feel VSSL Nest is a winner, you actually get what you pay for, which is saying something.
