Dicho’s, a coffee shop that is your door way to the past. 

Dicho’s is a wonderful, little, locally owned coffee shop in downtown Las Vegas, NM, providing a doorway to the glamorous past of the El Fidel Hotel! Dicho’s coffee bar is set up in the lobby of this fantastic time capsule, providing an experience of what it was when the hotel first opened. 

How did you find it?

We first visited Dicho’s after a long drive from Phoenix, and were in dire need of a pick me up. They were open in the late afternoon, and parking was not an issue. We walked in the lobby of the El Fidel not knowing what to expect, and were were transported back in time, to a beautiful hotel with an outstanding coffee shop. Being a person who loves coffee, and history, my day was made! Our espresso drinks were delicious, and the local made pastries were just as good. 

We loved how the coffee shop shared the elegant lobby of El Fidel, and felt like I could faintly hear the sounds of the hotel guests from long ago. 

What else goes on at Dicho’s?

Dicho’s also manages the hotel’s community activities, making this place a valuable community hub for gatherings, and social activities. You can rent out rooms for meetings, and receptions. If you are a paranormal fan your needs can be met there, too. The El Fidel is suppose to be haunted, with that much rich history I can well imagine there is a ghost, or two, still checked in.
