Roaster Name: Coffee By Design, Portland Maine’s own
Description: In 1994, Coffee By Design opened its doors in Portland Maine’s Art District and has been Portland’s best ever since. Coffee By Design has built a respectable relationship with the coffee farmers around the world, and as a result Coffee By Design gets the best selected beans for their micro roast operations. And that quality is past directly to you, the consumer. The beans are slow roasted in small batches, the result is a superior cup of coffee that very few can beat.

Roaster Review: I picked a bag of the Costa Rica Tarrazu La Minita Estate for a change of pace and to have a Latin American coffee on hand. My only concern now is if I have enough to share with my family and friends. The roast is Coffee By Design’s, Peak Roast and it is perfect for this bean, the roast gives all the flavor profiles you expect for a Costa Rican, but the robust taste that is brought forward is truly astounding, I can’t get enough of it. The coffee is smooth and complex with the right amount of nuttiness, a slight hint of chocolate. With cream the flavor is further enhanced with a wonderful finish that complements any meal at any time of day.
